welcome to the family

Sunday night Will, Garrison and I went to Oxford to film/photograph Tim proposing to Stephanie.  It's always such an honor to secretly photograph a proposal, but it was extra special to photograph my brother's!

They are in the process of building a house, so we hid outside and filmed through the door.  Stephanie's sister, Steph's sons, and Hayden lit candles and made a heart out of roses in the master bedroom.  Of course Tim had it planned out - everyone knew where to be at what time.  It worked out perfectly!  Our families were all waiting at Amy and Tyler's house afterwards.

Here are a few pictures.  I love that right above Steph's head you can see where Tim wrote on the wall "Trust in the Lord with all your heart."

TWO crackers

A couple of days ago Garrison wanted a cracker.  I handed him one and he kept crying and looking down at his hand.  I couldn't figure out what he was trying to tell me (which can be frustrating for both of us).  Finally I realized he was wanting TWO crackers.  He was trying to hold up two of his little fingers.  It's the first time he's ever indicated a number to us!

Sleeping in the car

Yesterday morning Garrison woke up at 5.  Wide awake.  Wanting a bagel.  We were all miserable (even the dogs!).  I shouldn't say miserable.  I never want to take for granted that we have a healthy baby boy.  But we were all sleepy!  On Wednesday mornings Will works and I go to a Bible Study.  Yesterday after it was over, we drove to the studio to pick up Will.  By the time we got there, this is what Garrison was doing...

I could just kiss those sweet cheeks all day long!

One of his classmates' moms also is at Bible Study.  Yesterday she said, "I love his outfits.  He always looks so cute.  Do you sew?"  Nope, but my mom does!!!  These sock monkey pants are one of my favorites!

facetime with deer heads

Several months ago I posted about facetime with my parents.  Garrison will talk to their bird, Ike.  He loves to talk to Hayden - Hayden always makes him laugh!  Everytime I get on the phone, Garrison says, "Nana" because he thinks I'm talking to my mom (which I usually am!).

Last weekend they were at the flea market in Tupelo, and he saw the deer heads hanging on the wall.  He kept saying "de" over and over because he wanted to talk to the deer.  He'd even lean over and kiss the deer on the phone!

After my parents got back home Monday we called them and Garrison kept saying "deer" over and over.  He wanted to see the deer again!  I'm hoping he doesn't start associating deer heads with my parents!

Happy Valentine's Day

Will and I don't do a lot on Valentine's Day.  We are planning to go eat tonight (with Garrison, of course) at a semi nice yet child friendly restaurant.  But that's about all we do - we don't exchange presents or flowers.  And I'm ok with that.  Will loves me every day of the year.  He doesn't have to buy something to prove it to me today.  I know it.  In my heart and in my soul.  And honestly, I'm just happy the three of us will get to spend time together.  It seems like we have been so busy lately that the three of us haven't spent much time together.

So on this Valentine's Day I'm in love with my Valentine (Will), and I love deeply my little man - and his t-shirt says he loves me too :)

spaghetti

Last night I started teaching a photography class, so Will and Garrison were on their own for dinner.  Every day we struggle with what to feed him.  He would eat yogurt every meal if we'd let him.  Before I left, I offered him English peas, butter beans and black eyed peas....all of which he threw on the floor because he didn't want them (I had to threaten him with the wooden spoon).  Will came up with the idea of spaghetti and cooked it while I was gone.  During my class I received these precious pictures of booger eating it up!

And yes, he did wear his pajamas ALL day yesterday.  He only left the house once - to ride to McAlisters for sweet tea.  Our favorite waitress there, J, calls him "fat man."  She said, "Fat man, what are you still doing in your pjs???"  I'd wear my pjs all day too if I could!

M&Ms

Everyone who reads my blog (ok, that's my mom and dad, my brother and Marianna) knows how much Will and I love trail mix.  We buy several tubs every time we go to Target.  And Garrison loves the raisins out of it (I'm sure because they are salty).  He's started wanting to pick the raisins out himself, which is fine by me....until I realized he was picking out the M&Ms!!!  He had chocolate all in his teeth.  In the first picture, I told him to smile.  I'm not sure where he learned this cheesy smile.  He usually does not smile for pictures (probably because I have a camera in his face all the time).  In the second picture he is showing me the M&M!

Please ignore his outfit....he looks a little white trash!
